Welcome to the online home of the Taylor County Historical Society. Since 1971, this dedicated group of local citizens has worked to preserve the history and culture of Taylor County and the many families, communities, and industries that have existed here over the decades. The Society meets regularly to share memories, hear presentations from local historians, and study historical documents and photographs to learn more about our dynamic past. The Historical Society’s museum, located in the historic First National Bank building on the courthouse square in downtown Perry, features both research facilities and numerous historical artifacts chronicling Taylor County’s heritage. We invite you to explore our site to learn more about who we are and how we can help you learn more about our own piece of the Sunshine State. View our calendar to find out what events are coming up, read the blog for interesting forays into Taylor County history, and visit our Programs & Resources section to learn about our activities as a Society. Also, check out our Facebook page, where we regularly post about upcoming events and other useful information!
